All in all, I am glad that my main purpose wasn't to touch base with my daughter since I have no idea if she even knew that I was there since she didn’t even glance my way (actually that was probably a good thing because if she did see me, then she would have been just as likely to give me an eye roll or a grimace as a smile). I was a lot more successful with the feeling a little bit a part of something special, I walked out of Mass with an incredible sense of pride. Not only in my own daughter but in all those wonderful kids that are willingly giving up a week of their summer to give something back. Now, that was something that was well worth getting up at the crack of dawn for!
By the way, the picture above has absolutely nothing to do with the post, I just personally think that all posts are better with a picture. Plus is there a better way to honor some great kids doing a little bit of God's work than with some of his own beautiful handiwork?
