Since Spring starts later today, at 6:46 to be exact, I was thinking of using a song that reflects the season. Of course, "Spring" by Vilvaldi instantly came to mind but then I saw a different suggestion, a suggestion that gave me pause. I decided to take that suggestion and instead use "New Attitude" by Patti LaBelle. I am desperately in need of an attitude adjustment, I am deep into my annual winter funk. That is a big reason that there haven't been many posts lately, I've been operating under the "if you have nothing good to say, then say nothing at all" philosophy. But I am going to try to get over myself and adopt a "New Attitude". Happy Friday and happy Spring, hopefully it is not too long before the weather catches up to the season, like me and my attitude adjustment, we desperately need it. If nothing else, the big hair will give everyone a chuckle, except for those of us that lived through it, we may be more inclined to grimace instead!
I really liked this song as soon as it came out, I thought that its message about living life to the fullest was inspiring. And then the other night, I happened to see the video and all I have to say is wow! Now I am a huge fan of this song. The band used the music video as an opportunity to tell the story of a 15 year old fan that has spent his life battling cystic fibrosis. I find it so uplifting to see people helping others and in addtion, this video struck a chord with me because one of my all-time favorite photographic subjects also battles this awful disease. Those of you that have been with me for a while may remember her from my Lucky and Blessed post a couple of years ago. If I felt lucky and blessed to be able to help a little bit, I can only imagine how One Republic feels getting the opportunity to help on a much grander scale. What a wonderful way to utilize their talents and resources and a wonderful way to kick off the weekend. Happy Friday, everyone!
Edelman seems to have quite the sense of humor and he's quickly becoming one of my favorites on the team (that pass against Baltimore certainly didn't hurt). If you get a chance, you may also want to check out this Smoothie Tyme video, it's also pretty funny.
This week's Friday Night Video is Julian Edelman's throwback post from last week, his own version of the theme song from the show, Growing Pains. He entitled it "Growing Pats" and it's adorable.
We all know that posts are always better with pictures so I have included a couple that I took of my godson with one of my son's footballs. I have no comment at this time as to whether the ball was properly inflated or not but I do have to say that his expression tells it all about how I feel about the story at this point.
Happy Friday, everyone, I hope that you all have a great weekend!! Go Pats!
In honor of the Super Bowl this weekend, I have chosen as this week's Friday Night video, the best halftime performance ever, in my humble opinion. Of course, I could be biased because the Patriots went on to win the Super Bowl that day and it kicked off a "beautiful" decade or so of sports success in the Boston area. Plus who can ever forget the hauntingly beautiful sound of "Where the Streets Have No Name" combined with the sight of all names of the victims of 9/11 scrolling up behind the band. Just typing this gives me the chills. The timelessness of the band combined with the emotion and the class of the show makes it the best one ever and one that I don't think will ever be surpassed. Happy Friday, everyone!! Enjoy the weekend!!
I know, I know, you are sick of hearing me talk about the weather and how frozen I am. Well guess what? I am tired of living with it!! So if I have to put up with it, so do you (thank you for that, by the way)!! On the bright side, the animation in this particular Disney movie is just stunning. What an incredible job they have done on this one. Maybe if our winter looked like this all the time, I wouldn't mind it so much. Nah, I'd still mind! Happy Friday, enjoy the weekend and stay warm. And if you happen to live somewhere warm or are going somewhere warm, can I come and visit??
