Grandparents and grandchildren, check,
So as I mentioned the other day in their sneak peek, I had the honor and the pleasure of taking some pictures for the extended McGibbon family as they were on their way to celebrate their 50th anniversary. It was cold out on Saturday so we were not able to meet outside but they were such incredibly good sports that we made do with what we had, with pretty good results, I feel. Although with a group as attractive as this, it is hard to go wrong!!
There was one spot that we could pop outside for pictures so we took a few minutes to brace ourselves and fix ourselves before heading out into the cold.
When it was time to for the guests of honor to go outside, they were teasing me about forcing them to go outside. We had a lot of fun with it, especially when I pointed out that I wouldn't have to if they didn't decide to get married in the winter!!
After I was through freezing them to death, we moved inside and tried to get all the various combinations:
Grandparents and grandchildren, check,
the "boys", check,
the "girls", check,
each family, check,
and let's not forget the "kids".
We finished up with some more group shots as well as a few more of the happy couple. I also managed to get a couple of candids while I was at it (c'mon, you knew that I wouldn't be able to resist that!!)
Happy anniversary!! I wish you all the best in the years to come. Thank you for the privilege of allowing me to attempt to capture the love and warmth of your beautiful family and to share in your celebration. Please click here if you would like to see the rest of the McGibbons pictures.
So I mentioned in my post yesterday that I was really excited to meet with and take some pictures of a family. I know I say it all the time but is is so true, I really do have the best job ever and yesterday proved it once again. This family was on their way to a party celebrating a very important milestone, 50 years of marriage!! How wonderful is that??What an honor and a privilege it was to be able to share in just a little bit of this family's joy on such a sweet and special occasion. Please enjoy this sneak peek, I promise that I will have more to share sometime this week. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, too bad that it isn't a long weekend like last weekend!!
And then there were the kids.... I have to admit, kids are my favorite to photograph. They are so uninhibited that they're just a blast to work with. And especially these kids since they were all so awesome and adorable (with amazing parents too).
First up were the incomparable Jolley girls. I have to admit that I'm a little biased here since they're my nieces but they are truly wonderful kids.
Then came Brody. The day that we picked for his shoot was so beautiful that I dragged my kids and a couple of their friends along. That combined with Brody and his mom's sheer awesomeness resulted in a photothon. It was so fun that I just made up my own word for it!
More Jolleys. More wonderfulness. More bias. 'Nuff said.
The Shute boys were the next day and they provided me with another one of my favorites compliments. When we're finishing up and getting in the car, the little one asks his mom, "When are the pictures?" It's a good shoot if the subjects don't even realize it's going on.
Then there were the Leo girls. Never mind the fact that they were such dolls, I loved that after 45 minutes they still weren't ready to finish our session. So what did we do? We took some more, of course.
The Morris kids were my last kids of 2011. Their mom is an old friend of the family so she wandered off to take a phone call while we took some pictures. I think that she was pleasantly surprised by their level of cooperation during our shoot. I wasn't though, her kids are super good kids.
Thanks to all these kids and their parents. I had a blast and I hope that they did too!!
