- I love the seasons and all that goes with them. I love opening day of baseball, seeing the trees bloom, the first day I get to wear flip flops, the first day of spring and Easter Sunday (although the weather doesn't always cooperate for either). I love beach days, fires in the backyard, pool parties, July 4th, my hammock and a book on a hot day, I even love the first time I have to mow the lawn each summer, although that gets old quick. I love apple picking and Halloween, the first day of school, getting the kids and myself back into a routine. I love some of winter, the first snowfall, a white Christmas, sledding, skating.
- If everyday was 80 degrees, I don't think that I would appreciate them all enough. I would take the gorgeous weather for granted. Part of what is so wonderful about spring and summer in New England is when it finally gets here after the long winter. You know, the anticipation of it all.
- We really don't get much severe weather, we get a little of everything but not really too much of anything. Other parts of the country each have their weather crosses to bear, be it tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards etc, we don't really. We may get the tail end of a hurricane or a blizzard every decade or so but for the most part, we are pretty lucky when it comes to that type of thing."
So there you have it, there is a partial list of why I subject my family to my winter self. I gotta tell you, as I sit here freezing and bored and restless, not one of these reasons seems very compelling to me at this moment. Stay warm!!
