When I asked my daughter how I should decide whose pictures to post first, she answered that I should do it alphabetically. Unfortunately for Tori that meant that she was last. And what's funny (well maybe not for Tori), one of my friends pointed out that she wouldn't have fared any better if we didn't use her nickname but used her real name instead (Victoria). But even if I used her last name, she still would have been last because the order of all three would have been the same whether we used first or last names, how weird is that??. But I am thinking that just means that we saved the best for last!! Like Brittany, I have known Tori forever, and I have watched her grown up to be a wonderful, not to mention beautiful, young lady. We had a lot of fun with our shoot starting off by the water and the wharf.
Tori wants to be a teacher so it was appropriate that our next stop was the one room school house on the island. Although I think that maybe Tori is aiming for a class that is made up of more than 8 students in one room, but you never know!! Part of the reason that Tori wants to be a teacher is an interesting story, and very indicative of her personality. This past year, Kate started an after school homework tutoring at the school where I work (and the girls' old elementary school). Since she couldn't do it alone, she enlisted Tori and Brittany to run it with her. Because of work schedules, Tori ended up being the one that ended up participating the most. Along the way, she decided that she had a passion for helping kids to learn and has decided to pursue that passion. Tori formed a strong bond with the kids and when softball commitments made it impossible for her to help out, she drafted her younger sister into service to make sure that there was coverage every day!!
Tori is also an athlete, she has played softball ever since I have known her, so playing on the rope swing in the back of the school was right up her alley.
After we left the school, we made a quick island stop before we got to the "tree". Yes the tree that Brittany was so kind to procure permission to use. Although Tori's mom was with us too and she would have asked if Brittany wouldn't (you know I wouldn't have asked, remember what I said about public speaking? Same type of thing!) Of course, Brittany and Kate couldn't resist having a little fun and photo bombing one of Tori's tree shots.
We hit some beach-y areas after that, and like Brittany and Kate, Tori was a really good sport about posing.
We ended at the lighthouse and I think that it is safe to say that the fabulous light totally agreed with Tori, don't you??
Best wishes on your senior year, Tori!! Although I don't really need to formally wish it since I will see you often, I do hope that it is all that you have hoped and dreamed that it would be. I am so happy that you have been in Kate's life for so long, she is so lucky to have a best friend like you!! If all of you girls continue to love and support one another, then the sky is truly the limit as to what you'll be able to accomplish. Thank you for allowing me this honor of capturing a small part of your senior year!! If you would like to see the rest of Tori's pictures, please click here.
