On Monday, I was lucky enough to work with the extended Durand family. It was such a pleasure to meet them and to get a chance to work with them. The reason that we did it this week is that some of the members of the family live out of state and this was time when they would all be together. I love seeing families all together and I consider it such an honor to be invited to participate in such an occasion. I met them at the home of the grandparents. Unfortunately it was a bit chilly out but they were all great sports and let me get some shots outside.
After taking some pictures right around there house, we headed over to the community center. Years ago, prior to a vacation at Disney World, my husband and I got a guide book that advised us to walk purposefully to Space Mountain as soon as we arrived at the Magic Kingdom. I felt that way with the Durands, we were very purposeful as we walked over to the community center. Of course, I couldn't resist getting a few shots of our journey over there.
Before we got to the community center, we did make one more stop to take a couple more outside pictures.
Once we got inside, we defrosted (both literally and figuratively) and got some more pictures of the whole group,
as well as just the grandchildren,
and the various combinations.
I was also able to get a couple more candid shots as well as another one of all the grandchildren before we left to go out into the cold once more and called it a day.
Thank you Durand family. It was truly an honor to be a part of the gathering of your extended family. I wish you and your family a very Happy new Year. I hope that 2015 is a year filled with much joy, laughter and happiness. If what I saw on Monday is any indication, your family has the joy and laughter thing down pat!
