Anyway, I have been redoing our wedding video and it's been so much fun to do a project just for myself. It was also such a revelation to look back at us when we were so "young and in love". Seeing the way we looked at each other, it's hard to believe that it's us. We had that "so in love" look, and it's the "I can't wait to see him" kind of love, not the "father of my children, only other adult in the house" kind of love. When I think about it now, after 15 years of marriage, I realize that I have gotten all that I could have asked for out of marriage. Someone that puts up with all my quirks may not have been what I started out searching for, or may not sound as romantic as a soul mate, but to me it is. I know that I am married to someone that gets me, loves me just as I am, and doesn't try to change me (much). He's not the "bring me flowers" or even "give me flowery compliments" kind of guy, but he is the "fix your computer and redo your resume" kind of guy. I'm okay with that (most of the time) because I'm more of a practical kind of girl, anyway, after all, I am using my anniversary present as a marketing tool...
We were friends before we dated and we've been friends all these years since. Happy anniversary, honey. Thank you for a wonderful 15 years and 4 (mostly) terrific children.
