There are a lot of pictures on Jenna's page, like a real lot. The why behind this is really a perfect storm of factors. And that is actually an apt saying to use here because the first factor is that it was stormy the morning of Jenna's shoot. As a matter of fact, it was still raining when we left and rained pretty much all the way down there. So there really wasn't anything else that we could have been doing (well I could have been cleaning my house but I am always going to take shooting a fabulous senior over that!). Although the sun never came out, we used that to our advantage and got some stormy, windy shots plus posed wherever we wanted instead of having to take the position of the light into consideration. It was weird though, it stopped raining when we pulled into Newport, didn't rain at all the entire time we were there and started to drizzle a little when we got back into the car. I think that someone may have wanted us to get this shoot in, just saying.
The second factor is that a couple of my girls and their friends were able to come along so it really made it seem more like an outing than actual work. Plus they got along famously with Jenna, she even called them her "photography crew" and asked their wardrobe advice. They carried my bag around for me too, so that was pretty sweet. Another factor was that none of us had to be back at any specific time so we could take our time and explore around. And since Newport is one of my all time favorite places but not really a place that I get to shoot professionally all that often because it is about an hour away, I was going to take full advantage of the opportunity.
Another reason is that I know her mother pretty well from church and I know that she has an excellent sense of humor, as does Jenna, so I knew that I could include some funny pictures that I may not include for everyone. Check out her hair, told you it was stormy and windy.
But honestly the reason that there is so many is really Jenna herself. Not only is she gorgeous (I told you I get all the gorgeous ones) but she is just a sweetheart and an incredibly good sport. Plus she is a little bit of a free spirit (I guarantee at least one of her friends or family members is chuckling at that little understatement) so she was game for anything that I asked her to do. Including, but not limited to: climbing down cliffs, sitting in puddles, sitting on the wet grass, climbing up trees, posing like a mermaid (more on that in just a minute).
Jenna has a slight obsession with mermaids (cue family and friends chuckling again) .Yeah that last one is supposed to be a mermaid pose but I feel like I kind of messed it up. I should have shot it from a couple of different angles to get the feel that I was looking for which was more of her coming out of the sea type of feel. Oh well, maybe we might have to go back and try again. Hey, do you think I subconsciously did it on purpose so that I would have an excuse to shoot Jenna again? Maybe, she was that much fun!
Jenna, I hope that your senior year is everything that you want it to be and more. Thank you so much for spending a stormy Sunday afternoon with me. Shooting professionally in Newport was on my bucket list and now thanks to you, I not only get to cross it off but to have a terrific memory of it as well.
