Like all of the teens that I have had the pleasure of working with recently, John was a really good sport. In John's case, this compliment is literal as well as figurative. He's the outside linebacker and halfback for Stoughton High, a team that is in the middle of a season that is shaping up to be pretty special. Just over halfway through and they have already defeated a team that they haven't beaten in 10 years, had their coach named coach of the week by the New England Patriots, met Hall of Fame linebacker, Andre Tippett and come within a two point conversion of beating another football powerhouse. John takes his game very seriously. I gave him the picture below as a peace offering since his mother told me he hates to have his picture taken. After saying thank you, he immediately started criticizing his positioning and form (he's #21).
For pictures, John brought a different kind of "team" with him, his mother and girlfriend. His mother to fix his shirt multiple times,
and get a couple of those "Oh Mom" looks.
With both of them helping out, I think I was able to overcome his picture hostility a little and get some quality shots.
As the captain of the field hockey team, his girlfriend is an accomplished athlete herself. She was also a big help so I thought it would be nice to get a couple of pictures of them together.
