In contrast, one of my nephews is a freshman in college in Boston so with a bunch of his college buddies, he got up early and headed over to the finish line to a front row spot for a very moving and memorable moment between the team, the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing and really the whole city of Boston. He also "hit the big time" as my husband called it when he was featured on Barstool Sports.
My other nephew has a great story too. He was working at Game On in Fenway the night of Game 6 when the Red Sox won the World Series. The Red Sox players and the trophy came in after the game to celebrate. He not only got to meet some of the players and see the trophy but he has pictures to prove it!!
Anyway, I am a little jealous of my nephews since my college experiences of sporting events were a whole lot different. Besides game 6, we also had the Bears/Patriots Super Bowl the previous winter during my freshman year which is another debacle that remains unwatchable to me. We did have the '86 Celtics but we were already home for the year by then so it seems different. Needless to say, my events weren't nearly as much fun as what my nephews got to be a part of!
