Before we start, just remember that I tried to prepare you yesterday for this family's sheer awesomeness. The day started off with a teeny bit of irony. We thought about meeting at the beach for our session but thought that it might be too windy so we decided on a local lake. Well wouldn't you know we get out of our cars and the wind is whipping!! This was totally my fault, I had forgotten that this particular lake can be pretty windy. Luckily, I had a plan B and we headed 3 miles up the road to a nearby state park. They were very flexible and nice about the whole thing (see, I told you they were awesome). We started out by walking down to the water to get some shots there. Their daughter, Sidonie, was so cute that I couldn't resist snapping one of her as we walked the trail to the lake. The bench down by the water admonishes all to enjoy, very nice thought. So we took them up on it.
There is a very cool building there so we popped in with the thought of getting some pictures but we obviously disturbed a bird that had a nest in there so we beat a hasty retreat. We settled for posing on the outside of the building. It also provided an opportunity to get some individual shots of Sidonie. The close up on the left may be one of my favorite pictures that I have ever taken. The fact that she is absolutely gorgeous may have just a little something to do with it.
We didn't want to leave their son, Andre, out so when we happened to walk by a tractor, it was his turn. We also made sure to get some non-tractor ones of Andre as well. Between those dark eyes, dark curls and impish grin, I think that it is fair to say that they have a future heart breaker on their hands.
We ended over by the grounds and got some great family shots as well as a good one of Mario and Karleen.
After we wrapped it up with this silly picture.....
and we walking back to the car, I saw another spot and thought of another thing I wanted to take a picture of. If you ever have your picture taken with me, please know that this is a recurring theme with me. I will tell you that we are all done about 400 times and then take "just one more". I don't mean to, I really don't but sometimes I lie so be prepared. Anyway I realized that we had got a picture of Mom and Sidonie down at the water but not Dad and Andre so we needed to get one, we just had to. And we might as well get another of Mom and Sidonie, right?
Thanks so much Todisco family, you were awesome!! If you would like to see the rest of their pictures, please click here.
