When all is said and done, I think that it was the right decision. Was he sad? Of course he was. Did it kill me to see him sad? Of course it did. But he learned a valuable lesson about what it means to make a commitment and to stick by that commitment no matter what, even when something better comes along. And that type of lesson is best learned when it is felt and experienced and suffered through, not just explained and reasoned and talked about.
