Tonight, the church is hosting a baccalaureate Mass and dinner, complete with a slideshow of pictures of First Communion, mission trips, retreats, food drives, etc, for those graduating from high school this year. Again, such a wonderful thing to do and extra-special for me (all about me) because 5 of the seniors that I worked with last fall came into my life because of my association with the church. I was fortunate enough to meet Sarah, Jenna, Zach, Maddie and Emma through church and I hope that they all have a great time tonight. Congratulations to them once again and I wish them great success in their lives, success that will hopefully be accompanied by much joy, peace and love as well.
Then tomorrow is First Communion. I have helped out with First Communion for the past couple of years and it always brings me such joy but this year, it's even more meaningful for me. That's because this year, in addition to a bunch of students from my school, it is also the First Communion of the kids of some of my closest friends. Talk about watching kids grow up, I have known these kids since they were babies and just love them all to pieces. After all, who wouldn't love these faces??
