This is my cousin and his grandfather, taken for a calendar that their mom/daughter put together to help support veterans. My cousin loved the idea of taking a picture with his grandfather, but because he does not like what he feels is undue attention, he was pretty steamed at his mom when she told him about the calendar part. His grandfather was so excited though that he couldn't back out. His grandfather has since passed away and my cousin is now really grateful to have done this (moral of the story, Mom is always right). Speaking of being grateful, I have included some quotes in an attempt to express my admiration for those that serve our country.
"This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave." ~Elmer Davis
"We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude." ~Cynthia Ozick
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." ~John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Happy Veteran's Day to all that serve or have served our country. We truly owe you more than we can ever express.
