Week in Review

This week was a whole lot quieter than last week.  Actually I think that it was quieter because the kids and I needed to chill this week and just recover from all the fun of last week.  But this week definitely had its moments, although they were of the quieter variety.   Last night I met up with one of my longest tenured friends (awkward phrasing but if I call her my oldest friend, she'll kill me).  I can't think of a better way to spend time in the summer than having dinner and a few drinks on the patio of the Abington Ale House with one of my dearest friends.

Well....except maybe .80 cent ice cream cones at Crescent Ridge Dairy.  If you have never been to Crescent Ridge, then you need to understand a couple of things.  First off, their ice cream is delicious and second their sizes and prices are outrageous. A kiddie cone is $3.95 and huge. On Tuesday, they offered .80 cent kiddie cones to celebrate their 80th anniversary and they did not skimp on the ice cream.  With a strategy that would make my thrifty, part-Scottish mother proud, I planned to arrive shortly after they opened at 11:00. Imagine my surprise when my plan worked to perfection!!  We waltzed straight up to the window, no line at all.  You can't go here without a line on a regular day, never mind for .80 cent cones.  My husband drove by later on his way home from work and said that it was just crazy busy. As my friend emailed me later in the week, "What a score."

In case you didn't believe me about the (no) line. And they gave out chocolate milk samples
I mentioned earlier in the week that I was working on a project for my neighbor.  Well on Tuesday she came over, along with my sister, to finish it up.  As way of saying thanks,  she brought a couple of bottles of Skinnygirl Margaritas and chips and salsa (YUM!).  Since it prompted us to sit outside and share some memories and laughs, it really was the perfect thank you.

Another thing that happened this week is that I finally achieved my goal of getting a book from the library in electronic book form as well as in regular old fashioned book form.  I know, I know, the fact that this was one of my goals speaks to just how much of a geek that I really am.  But since I still prefer to read a book the old fashioned way yet I love my Nook for night reading and travel, this was the best of both worlds. I always say that it is the little things in life that make me happy but really, I have to say that it was absurd how happy this made me.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sue,
Thank you for sharing your talents and for creating this most cherished DVD of Wendy's pictures. I had such a peace being with you and Kerri last Tues. night. I was not sure how I was going to feel (to be honest) looking at all those beautiful memories in 1 collection as you have so beautifully created - When I viewed the DVD for the 1st time it became such a special evening of sharing because you know me, my family, my sister and "where we come from"...that was so evident and as we sat together sharing stories of our childhood, our kids, our lives etc....When you "grow up" together there is a bond that is everlasting & can never be broken and I am so thankful for that with you, your parents, and all your siblings & their families too! XOXO

I could not agree with you more about the bond that is between us all and it will with us all always.
